I was looking at Hopwood on Google maps and it appears there is a fire station there now?

Unfortunately it is a car wash now. Attaching pic, yea I guess it does sorta look like a fire station.

I used to work at Ruse's Roost in high school and early college. I know the Ruse family well. That was my first real job.

It was sold by the Ruse's quite some time ago, and my opinion is that the new highway took away all the drive-by business and it just tanked after that. It used to be that all the summit traffic had to come through Hopwood when descending the mountain, that provided a lot of business to that restaurant.

At least they kept the Rooster on the Pole, that is a Hopwood landmark.

LOL a car wash huh? Oh well. The Roost used to be our stop coming home from camping up in the mountains and after fishing at the gun club.

Do you remember when B drove that red or maroon Oldsmobile?

And I used to love the old fashioned Pizza Hut next door with the Pacman and Galaga machines.

Yea, my brother had a maroon over black 442, fun car.

LH Class of 85 is having 25th reunion next month BTW if you know anyone that would apply to (applies to me!!)

I don't remember those, next door to Ruses? I know there were businesses next door but the only one I can recall is the hand car wash.. There was a pizza hut about 2 blocks down 40 but don't remember it much...
