“Marcellus Shale & Emergency Response - Is Fayette County Prepared?“
The Fayette County Marcellus Shale Taskforce is hosting a Public Forum “Marcellus Shale & Emergency Response - Is Fayette County Prepared?“
The forum will be held on Monday, October 3, 2011 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Public Service Building which is located at 22 East Main Street in Uniontown.
Angela Zimmerlink, Chair of the taskforce and Fayette County Commissioner, said public safety representatives from Chevron and Williams and our Fayette County EMA will discuss emergency response and preparedness in the event of an incident relating to Marcellus Shale natural gas well operations, compressor stations and pipelines.
“Quite often I am asked if Fayette County is prepared to respond in the event of a gas well blow out or other natural gas related emergency so here is an opportunity for residents of Fayette County to hear from directly from natural gas companies and our own EMA so I urge public attendance and participation.
