What are the uniontown hot spots these days.

I haven't been there in quite a while. Used to be a lot of bars and hangouts. how about now?

I'm too old, I don't hit hot spots any more.

Mount Vernon Inn is gonzo. There's a walgreen's there now. Many others are still around though.

I'm also just a shade out of my "hot spot" days but those in the family that still go for that sort of thing don't really mention any. My guess is there are none.

I do know that Darby's (formerly Hillside) still exists, but it's mostly an older crowd. Mount Vernon Inn is gone, it's now a Walgreens.

It's kind of strange, almost like the non-Smoking laws pushed "bar-restaurants" off the fence, forcing them to go towards either bar or restaurant, and the restaurant side won.

Darby's seems much more like a restaurant now that there is no smoking in the main table area. There was a bar downtown (formerly Anthony's I think) that looks like a restaurant now (haven't been there in a few years, don't remember the name now).

I don't know why I didn't think of this before, but there is a really nice list of Uniontown restaurants and such at http://WWW.UNIONTOWNONLINE.COM here:

http://www.uniontownonline.com/Dining.html

There's like 3 whole screens full of restaurants, some of them are bars, and there's other categories you can check there too. Tons of Uniontown information there.

Also, try hitting some web sites of the local bands and see where their venues are. One of them is Daddy Long Leg, here is a URL that is working for them temporarily:

http://www.daddylongleg.com

Hope this helps.

Keep an eye in the herald standard newspaper there are a lot of bars around still but uniontown is getting pretty sparse for things to do. I think a lot of uniontownions are going to pittsburgh and such nowadays.
